I had published an entire post on yesterday's Halloween party and went in to add one more picture when somehow, the whole post got deleted. Arghhhhhh. So in lieu of me not wanting to recreate the entire thing, I'm just going to post some pictures.
Clint and me...I love his hat!
Shannon and Jeremy...they were so cute.

Jamie tried to sneak in a candid, but I saw her and
posed at the last second. ;-)
Clint and me (again)
Oh com'on. NOBODY was Batman!!
ReplyDeleteWas Jeremy a glowstick?
Funny, I actually am dressing up as "Bat Girl" next week! We're going to my in-laws house next weekend for Halloween, and the theme is super heros/villains.
ReplyDeleteYou should have seen Jeremy's costume when the flash was on the camera--he really did look like a glow stick! But I think his costume was actually a mutant sewer worker, or something like that. He had on these huge deformed feet for most of the night...until he threw them at the barking dog.
You're going to be Batgirl, well, I was the Joker last Halloween so you better not foil my plans.
ReplyDeleteI think this year will be just taking out pumpkin for trick or treat on base but I love Halloween so I'm always on the lookout for decor or ideas for fantastical, spooky parties for that day.
No promises on those plans. ;-)
ReplyDeleteHalloween can be a source of contention for me. I used to love Halloween as a child, but Clint absolutely hates it, so I sometimes feel a little resentful that my kids aren't carving pumpkins and trick-or-treating like other kids. We still do fun things around Halloween, but I feel a bit deprived of those traditions that I grew up with. The fact that I was able to convince Clint to go to the above-mentioned Halloween party was a miracle in of itself. We did come up with a plan that will make him comfortable with decorating for Halloween next year, but it's a little drastic, so we'll see. Luckily we both love Christmas and go WAY out for that.
Good luck coming up with spooky-riffic stuff!
Ah yes, I remember reading about those views of Halloween. Seems rather odd holding the Irish responsible for that, even considering you and your sister's names are Irish. (Interesting note: both your names, until about 40 years ago we almost exclusively names given to males of Irish descent).
ReplyDeleteFor myself I've always enjoyed Halloween. Its one of the only holiday's where it can be enjoyed alone if needed. I don't celebrate christmas so it really helps reallocate the resources to making the other holiday's fantastical.
