Dang Snails...Get a Room!

Here is a conversation (an arguably typical one) that took place at the beginning of fifth period as students entered the classroom:

Brydan: “Oh hey, Mrs. P. I’m so glad fourth period is over! Last period Ms. Tucker made us watch bugs getting it on with each other.”

Tyson (rolling his eyes): “It’s called 'mating rituals.'"

Me: “Well that sounds sort of interesting...."

Brydan: “Yeah, real interesting. You try watching snails making out for twenty minutes. I never thought I’d say this, but I’ll take last week’s pronoun lecture all over again.”

Me: "Gee thanks, Brydan. I'm sincerely flattered."

But seriously, thanks, Brydan...you just gave me today's blog entry!

  1. The funny thing is daughter would love watching "bugs getting it on." She loves that stuff! But twenty minutes is definitely a long time to watch snails making out. LOL

  2. Haha! That sounds really exciting! Right up there with memorizing the table of elements in chemistry class.

  3. What a great conversation post. I like the way you are laughing through such a difficult and important job! I'll take that vibe and run with it.
