Bug Emporium

Okay, I have already posted twice today, but I am cracking up! It's currently almost 11:00 p.m., and I just now had to take Trinity's laptop away from her, because instead of sleeping, she was sitting in the dark creating a website. She is absolutely obsessed with bugs, stating over and over again for the last year that when she grows up she is going to be an entomologist. She wants to use her knowledge of bugs to open up what she calls a "bug emporium," which according to her is like a zoo, but with bugs instead of animals.

So she created a website called "Trinity's Bug Emporium," and I am not kidding when I say that I did not help her with this project at all. I guess this is the price you pay when you buy your nine year old a laptop for Christmas (but just to clarify, it was a used laptop from e-bay--we don't spoil our kids that much).

You know, it just occurred to me that my sister recently did a post called "Bug Infestation," my nephew did a post called "Cute Buggies," Trinity did a post called "Bugs! Bugs! Bugs!" and now I'm publishing a post called "Bug Emporium"...all in the same week. Interesting theme there.

In the future, can someone please send me a memo with the current weekly theme so I can better prepare?

  2. I know, I need to SLEEP! Wait, aren't you the tea kettle calling me black? Because I'm a black pot, or something? Damn I'm tired. LOL

  3. That's cute!! Your little girl is clearly very bright. I have 32 year old husband who couldn't (or wouldn't?) figure out how to start his own blog and when I started it for him, he bum never used it. So, that you have a little one who's so bright and driven to do something like that is fantastic!

  4. How funny that Matt never used his blog, because I've always been under the impression that he loves to write. But I guess having a love for writing doesn't necessarily equivate to a love for blogging?

Thanks for the nice words about Trin! I actually read to her what you said, and she exclaimed "Kristyn is sooo nice! Can we go over to her house this weekend?" I actually laughed out-loud. The only thing I can say is that I can't stand cats, but for whatever reason I always have a cat on my lap. They can't seem to leave me alone, rubbing their fur up my nose and making my eyes water. Sometimes kids are the same way, so at this point you should be happy that several states seperate you and I, cuz frankly, my daughter wants to give you a big ole' juicy hug right now.

  5. He does love to write, but he has blog-fright -- Like stage-fright, but for blogging. LOL. The man cannot make himself do it. This wouldn't be the first time and it won't be the last. I think it's silly, and I mean really silly, but it seems to be a real problem for him.

Aww!! Well you could come to my house this weekend, but it would be a long drive! Actually, my house isn't very kid friendly, and I have a vicious, territorial shih-tzu whose terrible with kids. Ha! Yeah, okay, that was only a half-joke, he has to be locked up when my friends teenagers are around because I'm afraid he's going to attack them, he get's so riled up with the barking and snarling. But, in a few weeks you can come to my mom's house and see me, which is much closer, and safer without the evil shih-tzu! ;)
