Jeremy is online shopping for a flat screen TV...YES! I realized the other day how stupid it is that I even want a flat screen TV. First thing, we already have two. We have one in our bedroom, and one in the downstairs craproom...er...rec room. Second, I don't watch TV. I haven't watched television for 17 months. My kids have it on, so I may watch bits and pieces of whatever they are watching, but my attention span doesn't last longer than a few minutes. Sometimes I will watch a movie with the kids. I used to be addicted to a dozen or so shows (Grey's Anatomy, Desperate Housewives, etc...), but one day the segment of my brain that processes the images on the screen turned to mush. I am still hoping this process reverses itself, so I have 3,000 hours of DVR'd shows that I "plan" on watching someday.
Anyway, the reason I want a flat screen for the living room is this: There is a perfect spot for one over my fireplace, and the TV currently in the living room is blocking a window. So my primary motive is to balance out my living room. Ironically, I could accomplish the same thing by trashing the current TV and putting a painting over the fireplace.
Did you know in addition to sale's tax, California charges $10 "Electronic Waste Recycle Fee" when you buy a TV? Fuck California.

By the way, I had a REALLY good lunch with Jodi and my parents today. We went to the Olive Garden, and it was so relaxing and fun. My mom actually drank wine (she is normally a Smirnoff Ice or Tom Collin's kinda gal), and my dad was extraordinarily patient with us (we started telling TMI stories). I found out my sister had an obscene experience with a horse.
