Set Fire to the Rain

Great week, but my head feels like it's splitting into two pieces right now.

Here's another recent hit by Adele.  I just love her voice...it's so rich and full of emotion.  I dedicate this one to my fellow teacher, Tilli, assuming she can pull her head out of "Rolling in the Deep" for two seconds.  ;)

  1. I loooooooooooooooooooooooooooove Adele!! I bought her "21" album--the first disk I've actually bought in a long time, I usually just download one song at a time from iTunes--and I've been listening to it, pretty much non-stop, for the last two weeks. It's starting to drive Matt nuts!!

  2. I don't think you love her ENOUGH, Kristyn. Maybe if you added a few more O's, I'd be convinced (hehe). But seriously, I love her too! It's funny cuz I think Clint actually loves her a wee bit more than me--HE'S the one always cranking Adele through our house. It's quite manly. LOL. His latest fave is "Someone Like You," mine is this one (I love the imagery of setting fire to rain). Of course we both love "Rolling in the Deep," it's just that we've heard it so many times now. Is there any other songs you love from her 21 album? I've never listened to it before.

  3. "He won't go" and "One and only" are great songs too! The whole album is fantastic. Adele has a very unique voice. She has definitely made it to my top five favorite vocalist! The ball and chain is not fond of her though. He says she is always complaining and she is angry at men. I just love the emotion and soul of her voice.

  4. I love "Rumor Has It," that's my current favorite on the disk. But, really, they're ALL good! Matt actually really likes her, but after a while, he can tend to get annoyed with my obsessions. Like, he likes the movie "Mama Mia!" but after I watched it like 50 times in a row, he said he needed a break. He wears out on things, though ironically not on HIS things, just on mine. :P

  5. Thanks girls for the suggestions! I'm going to add all three to my playlist. I completely agree Jewls, Adele has a very unique voice. As far as R's point; does she come across as bitter toward men? Well, yes...but it's a necessary evil. You're not going to get that sort of 'emotion and soul' into a cheery, happy-go-lucky song. Unfortunately any song containing the sort of raw emotion it takes to make it something special (such as Adele's) is going to deal with broken dreams, or love gone awry, or whatever. Kristyn, I know exactly what you mean! Clint will usually start off enjoying something that I enjoy, but then I overdue it to the point that he grows tired of it. He does it to me too though (and usually ten times worse), so it's all good. ;)

  6. My favorite Adele song as well! My second favorite is a little older, but I love "Chasing Pavements." :)

  8. I completely forgot that Chasing Pavements even existed! That is such an awesome song! I might have to post that one next, if I can find a decent version.

  9. It's beautiful, right? My least favorite Adele song is "Rumor Has It" (sorry Kristyn!).

  10. So beautiful! I remember I was never crazy about her voice in the beginning of the song, but when she starts belting out "Should I give up or should I just keeping pavements..." her voice gets so powerful.

I'll have to listen to "Rumor has it" now and decide for myself.
