So I lost a bet and now I have to go to work this Friday with bright pink hair. Coincidentally, Friday also happens to be my birthday, which means I get to enter my 33rd year of existence with lovely bright pink tresses. I'll explain all of that in my next blog entry though, because it's sort of a long story.
This song below played tonight during a heart-warming scene from the season premiere of Biggest Loser. I don't usually watch the show, but it happened to be on TV when I walked into the living room. I'll admit, even though the scene was out of context for me since I had just tuned in, the combination of that sweet scene and this particular song made me feel all warm and mushy. The video, on the other hand...well, it doesn't really compare. But that's okay. I've decided that even though the lead singer has sort of weak eyes that bother me, I still like the song.
One more, and then I'm off to bed. So rap is generally not my preferred genre of music, but I do enjoy the occasional rap song when it has an actual melody and lyrics that I can connect with. Although this next song is rap, it is just so sweet. Sweet in the traditional sense; not sweet as in "dude, your new ride is sweet!" I love the chorus the most. "Can we pretend that airplanes in the night sky are like shooting starts?" How adorable is that line? It sort of brings you back to those childhood days when the world was full of possibility.

You absolutely must post a picture of your pink hair! Oh, and happy nearly birthday! I've always been able to remember when you and Shannon celebrate yours becuase my mom's is the same day. :D
ReplyDeleteI watched The Biggest Loser for the first time this last week and I cried. I felt like such an idiot, crying at a TV show that I had literally never seen before, but... it was just so heart warming. And, I think it hit a little too close to home for me. Trying to decide if I'm going to keep watching or not.
I'll definitely try to get a decent pic Kristyn! I'm getting sort of worried now though, because the spray I bought is supposed to be BRIGHT "Airhead Pink," yet my test strand came out just a darkish red. Clint's saying that if I wear my hair in braids, we can probably spray them with several coats to get the color to brighten. But now I'm bummed, because if I"m forced to go to work with pink hair, I at least wanted it to be big and wild. Not just two pink braids. "Go big or go home", ya know? Oh well.
ReplyDeleteI just LOVED that scene on Biggest Loser where Anna Kournikova ran out into the desert to take the older team to the finish line. I actually rewound that scene and watched it again because it was so heart warming(and it made me cry too). I'm going to go ahead and DVR the rest of the season, I think. The show is so inspirational, and the competitors are so sweet with each other, unlike the cattyness (sp?) you see on other reality shows.
